& Experience

At Elite Industrial & Construction Training, safety and service run deep in our roots. Our journey began with Judy Kersey, a trailblazer in emergency services who started her career with the Houston County Fire Department in the early 1980s. As an EMT and member of the rescue teams, she set a high standard of dedication. Her husband, Wendell Kersey, also exemplified leadership, serving on the fire commissioners board since the 1970s and as the Chief of the Henderson Volunteer Fire Department.

Building on this legacy, Chris Kersey joined the fire service in 1986, earning his fire and EMT certifications. His career has been dedicated to advancing emergency response and safety training, including serving on the SOAR (Special Operations and Rescue) team, being part of Georgia's first GSAR (Search and Rescue) team, and deploying to New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina for logistics and rescue operations. As a fire instructor at the GPSTC Fire Academy in Forsyth, Chris developed and led industrial safety courses, including specialized OSHA training. Achieving his dream of completing the rigorous Georgia Smoke Diver program at age 38 remains one of his proudest milestones.

Our commitment to safety is a family affair. Chris’s niece, Brittany Proctor, earned her EMT certification in 2016 and has worked in emergency care and cardiology. His sister, Tammy, has been a vital part of our mission, contributing her expertise from Houston Medical and supporting our family’s efforts to teach and organize life-saving classes.

At Elite Industrial & Construction Training, we bring decades of real-world experience and a passion for safety to every class. Our mission is to empower individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in emergencies and build safer workplaces.
